Some Cornwall College students told to stay home after positive COVID test
The student belongs to the Sports and Military and Protective Services Academy
Students on a Cornwall College course have been told to stay at home after a coursemate tested positive for COVID-19.
The student who attends the Camborne campus received confirmation of the positive test on Sunday, after getting tested last week.
The student studies as part of the college’s Sports and Military and Protective Services Academy.
A spokesman for The Cornwall College Group said: "On Sunday (September 13), a student who attends our Camborne campus as part of our Sports and Military and Protective Services Academy had confirmation of a positive COVID-19 test.
"We worked with Public Health England and contacted all learners and staff in the student’s course bubble on Sunday evening, asking them to self-isolate for 14 days from the last day of contact (September 10).
"During this period, learners will be taught remotely."
The spokesman added: "No other students or staff need to self-isolate at this time unless they have been told to.
"The safety of our learners and staff is our priority and we are following government guidance."
