A company making luxury Italian tiramisu in Cornwall has expanded into full meals to help people during the Covid-19 pandemic.

TiramisUGO, named after founder Ugo Massabo, has launched The Cornish Italian offering what he describes as a "home food experience" in takeaway form, delivering all over Cornwall.

This includes Falmouth, Helston and West Cornwall, as well as its local Truro area, with the company based at St Erme.

For £8 per person, including delivery - dependent on minimum orders per area - the company is delivering meals such as spaghetti bolognese, pasta four formaggi and pasta al pesto, together with a side of grissini Italian breadsticks and a jar of its famous tiramisu.

Ugo, who is working alongside ither Guild of Fine Food members and independent businesses across the country, said: "“In these unprecedented times our small business was at high risk, as a major share of our sales until now have been via farmers markets, events and wholesale distribution to farm shops and delis.

"By introducing this new service – The Cornish Italian – we were able to keep the company alive and increase product awareness, as well as supporting the community and reaching customers in even the most remote parts of Cornwall.

"Customers’ feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive and has made me realise once again the importance of resilience and thinking beyond your comfort zone especially during a crisis."
