HAYLE PENWITH U3A:

Hayle U3A has the following programme this week.  Today, Thursday January 19, at 10am there is History and Writing; then at 2pm the Social Event "Have clipboard and pen, will travel" takes place.  On Tuesday January 24 at 10am there is Art then at 2pm there is Poetry Reading. All sessions except Writing are held in the Philip Smith annexe to the Hayle Day Care Centre.  The Writing is held in Hayle Library.

HAYLE FLOWER CLUB:

The club will hold its next meeting on Wednesday January 25 at Hayle Day Centre. A slide show by Pat Ward on the Gardens of the Lake District starting at 7.30pm. Visitors most welcome £3.

HAYLE FILM CLUB:

Julieta. Thursday January 26 at 7.30pm

From legendary Spanish director Pedro Almodvar, a tale of memory, love, and guilt. A chance encounter leads middle-aged Julieta to revisit her past and her long-estranged daughter. 99 mins, rated 15, in Spanish with subtitles.

As ever, at the Passmore Edwards Institute, house lights down at 7.30pm. Tickets £5/£4 for members, reserve on 01736 752319.

AGM:

Hayle Twinning Association will be holding their AGM on Monday February 13 at 7.15pm in room 8 at Hayle Community Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend though only paid up members will be able to take part in any voting. After the AGM there will be the usual monthly meeting. This year is the Association's 20th anniversary so it would be good if all members would attend as well as anyone who would like to join and help arrange activities for our French partners stay in Hayle.

HARD HAT TOURS AT HARVEY'S FOUNDRY:

On February 28 Harvey's Foundry Trust will be opening its construction site again to allow 20 members of the public an exclusive tour of their Phase 3 redevelopment along Foundry Lane. These free tours will provide a unique glimpse into the past through the fabric of the foundry buildings, which are steeped in history. The tour will take place from 11am to 1pm. Spaces are limited to 20 people and will be given on a first come, first served basis. Pasties and hot drinks provided.  Anyone interested in joining the tour please contact the Trust via email on daisy@harveysfoundrytrust.org.uk.

Hayle Heritage Centre is also seeking new volunteers. The Centre is currently engaged in a number of fascinating collections projects and is therefore looking for new volunteers to join the existing team. ST. ELWYN'S CHURCH:

On Sunday January 22, the Third Sunday of Epiphany the Parish Eucharist will be celebrated by the Reverend Sharon Chalcraft at 9.30am. At 3pm St Julia's Annual Birthday Concert takes place with the Cornwall Chamber Orchestra, Conductor Judith Bailey, Leader Jenny Rapson, Soloists Jenny Rapson (Violin) Kate Whetter & Rachel Green (Flutes). The programme includes works by J S Bach and Mozart. Admission £6. On Wednesday January 25, Said Eucharist will be celebrated by the Reverend Sharon Chalcraft at 10am. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after each service.

ST.JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, HAYLE:

St Joseph's Church in Hayle is part of the Roman Catholic Parish of the Holy Family. Father Philip said the 6.30pm Mass on Saturday January 14 with readings from Isaiah - Corinthians and gospel by John.

There will be Mass on Friday January 20 at 10am.

Christian Unity Service at Hayle Methodist church on Sunday January 22 at 6pm.  Speaker Reverend Mark Richards.
