The Christmas Coffee held on 19 December in aid of Parkinsons raised £186.50 .Many thanks to those who gave raffle prizes and all those who came and supported.

The Coffee Morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support held last week at Angarrack Community Centre was a great success raising £142.50.

With thanks to all those who contributed to produce stall and all who came.

On a beautiful afternoon there was a brilliant turn out for the Duck Races 2014, meaning extra races had to be run to accommodate everyone. 

The BBQ was very busy too - and crepes were flying out! The bottle stall and raffle were also popular.

There were brilliant winnnings on the Tote too - with two lucky winners getting more than ten times their original stake.

Last month the Hayle Film Club had another sell-out crowd for the French hit film “Intouchables”.The evaluation slips given to the participants returned a 98% excellent rating.

Thanks to all who came to the casino on Saturday night.  A great time was had by all.

Nigel Willis won the star prize with an astonishing total of 40,000 chips.

Look out for our net casino night later in the year which will be even bigger.

Mike Maquire and Chris Hampton, of the Hayle District Darts league, held a darts evening in January at the Angarrack Inn in memory of former team player Donovan Harris. Our new bridge to North Quay is now open to all traffic, and the full works on N.Quay are expected to be complete by the end of November.

Simon Clarke from ING hopes to have work start on the repairs and supermarket on South Quay in the first or second quarter or 2013, and it’s likely that plans will be going in for developments on North Quay.

There will be consultations on whether Hayle wants a bridge over Penpol creek to connect Penpol terrace to the Quay, and where. Graham Coad, Editor.

The hospice would like to thank all who attended the Cornish evening held on Friday, September 23, at the Angarrack community centre.

Special thanks to the Bucca Four and to Fringe and Tassel, who provided superb entertainment.

The grand sum of £416 was raised and a great evening was had by all.

ING and the Rugby Club gained planning approval, ASDA and Morrisons refused.

Twenty Five people and three intrepid dogs turned out for Peter Channon's talk.

Many thanks to Peter for his energy and enthusiasm and taking the time and trouble to educate us all.

Despite many people having previous engagements there was an excellent turnout for the Treasure Hunt and BBQ to raise funds for the Angarrack Christmas Lights - celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year.

 

Very many thanks to all who turned out and also to the Steve & Julie Horne from the Angarrack Inn for kindly donating the star prize.  Thanks are also due to the Angarrack Christmas Lights Committee who organised the vent and were hard at work on the BBQ too.  read more »

PASTY & PUNCH THANKS:

Funds raised at the recently held pasty and punch evening at the Glassons' home in Angarrack have reached the wonderful sum of £1105.

Thanks to everyone for your support in boosting the St Julia's Hospice evening, especially Barclays bank for their match funding.

Angarrack Methodists

The Carols by Candlelight service held at Angarrack Methodist Chapel on 12th December was well attended and enjoyed by all.

The grand switch-on of the Angarrack Christmas Lights took place last Saturday, and went off very well despite the rain that arrived just after Santa departed!

The lights are now on from 5pm until 10pm every day until just after the New Year, and all are welcome to come and take a stroll around the village. The lights certainly brighten these dark nights!

The Angarrack Lights committee than everybody involved for all their support. Your help and donations are greatly appreciated.

Cancelled due to snow

At the last event that the Hayle Friends of St Julia's Hospice held at Angarrack Community Centre, the "Easy Listening" music was provided by the G8 Band, and was enjoyed by all.

The total raised for the evening was £626, which was marvellous; everyone was able to enjoy a finger buffet, together with the grand raffle.

Very grateful thanks were expressed to all who contributed in any way in raising this amount; the band, the donors of raffle prizes, all who enjoyed the evening, and everyone who supported the evening.

A grand total of £1197.14 was raised at the pasty and punch evening held at the home of the Glassons at Angarrack on Monday 7; this is for Cornwall Hospice Care (St Julia's Hospice). 

Marion would like to thank everyone for their help and generosity, and also for the contributions received.

Huge thanks to everyone who took part in and to all those who contributed to make the Treasure Hunt such a success.

Thanks especially the Angarrack Inn for hosting the start and finish and the BBQ, and the Red River Inn for the great first prize.  The questions had many puzzled people backtracking around the village looking for clues they'd missed and a great afternoon was had by all.

The winning team - Sarah & Nick- managed to get all the questions right, find the additional items and all in an amazing time of 40 minutes!  Very well done to them.

The Glasson family of Vellan Parc, Angarrack would like to thank everyone who attended the Punch and Pasty evening at their home.  

The wonderful sum of £902.74 was raised for St Julia's Hospice in Hayle, part of Cornwall Hospice Care.

Also, thanks to those who sent contributions and donated raffle prizes.
