Dear

Thank you for your email regarding the resurfacing in Angarrack.   Unfortunately, this will not include the longingly anticipated alterations at the Crossroads area. This is subject to an alternative funding stream which has been closed for over three years but has recently become available again. I am hoping to have a final agreement regarding this schemes funding by early summer, which will then be closely followed by the public consultation.

I am sorry the works have not been coordinated but I could not hold off the urgent need to resurface any longer.

With kind regards

Good afternoon

Work is due to begin this week on Steamers Hill, Hatchs Hill and Grist Lane, Angarrack. Please can you confirm that the planned improvements i.e. installing a footpath, painting double yellow lines at the junction of Grist Lane and Hatchs Hill will be included in this work. It was postponed in 2024/25 due to lack of funds. Parking is still an issue at this junction and, since my original email, there has been another incident where a car has hit the bollards.

Regards

Resident of Angarrack

Dear Mr Hoskin

Thank you for your reply. It is good to hear that you are considering measures to improve the safety and visibility at the junction. If there is anything I, or other concerned residents of the village, can do to help secure funding please let me know.

Regards

Dear

Thank you for bringing your concerns to my attention.

As luck would have it, I attended this area earlier today and discussed the same concern with the local Cornwall Councillor and Town Council representative. A few options have been discussed and I would be happy to support measures in this area given the concerns raised. However, all of this is subject to securing the required funding to which we are now looking to address.

A Roads, Transport and Parking Enquiry has been received. Details follow.

Enquiry Type : Parking

Parking Topic : Requests for new parking restrictions including resident parking, renewal of parking lines/signs

Enquiry Details : The Blind corner from Hatchs Hill into Grist Lane and cars parking between the bollards in front of the communty notice board and water pump. Cars are parking on both corners, restricting the view of drivers entering/leaving the road and also forcing cars into on coming traffic. Cars are also being parked between the bollards, damaging them and preventing access to the notice board. There was a bad accident a month ago when a scooter crashed into a car near this junction, the air ambulance attended. I think double yellow lines are needed on both corners and chains or something similar that would prevent cars from parking inside the bollards.
