Christmas Lights 2008 - disassembled
Enormous thanks are due to all the Lights Elves who turned out bright and early on a very cold Saturday morning to help with the taking down and storage of all the lights for another year.
After a long day, the last of the lights was successfully removed and stored ready for next year.
Many thanks to all who gave up their time to help.

Digital TV Switchover
Throughout the spring and summer of 2009, the analogue TV signal is to be switched off, and digital switched on.
If you receive your signal from Redruth the change-over is scheduled to take place on July 8, if from Caradon Hill it will take place on August 12. Which means that if you have an old television you probably need to do something about it now if you want to be able to watch it this time next year.

The song "The Twelve Days of Christmas" is actually Christian Doctrine in Code-Fiction!
There is a rumour that the popular Christmas song "The 12 Days of Christmas" was actually written as a memory device for Christians to remember and recite doctrine.
The rumour says that beginning in the 1500's, Catholics in England were not allowed to practice their faith openly, so "The Twelve Days of Christmas" became a secret catechism. Several suggestions are listed as to what doctrines the verses actually represented.
