Councillors have voted to reject plans for 200 acres of solar panels in the Cornish countryside near Hayle.

About 185 acres at Lanyon Farm, to the north of Gwinear Lane, Gwinear, Hayle, and nine acres at Loggans Road, Hayle, were the subjects of two applications coming before Cornwall Council’s strategic planning committee.  read more »

Concerns raised by objectors include the loss of agricultural land and harm to the setting of a Grade II listed farmhouse.

Gwinear-Gwithian Parish Councillor Lionel Pascoe has also raised concerns the facility could lead to potential flooding of nearby Angarrack, and issues over road access.  read more »
