There are plans to turn a B&M site in Cornwall into a hotel, a gym and a care home.

The proposal is for the B&M and Office Outlet site on Newham Road, in Truro. It suggests that one building could be turned into homes or a care home, that one new building could have shops or a gym as well as a hotel.

The B&M store closed in 2018 and Office Outlet closed earlier this year.

The pre-application was submitted to Cornwall Council by Planning Potential on behalf of Colliers Capital.

It reads: "This potential proposed redevelopment could include circa 0.75/1.00 acre for residential/retirement/care home use at the southern end of the site, with a new building of circa 20/25,000sq ft for retail/gym or leisure use with four storeys above for hotel or residential use.

"The 2.21 acre site is currently occupied by B&M Bargains and Staples trading as Office Outlet. The existing units combined extend to approximately 35,000sqft.

"There are 145 car parking spaces split between the two units."

Cornwall Council will consider pre-application PA19/02303/PREAPP on Tuesday, October 29.
