Anthony Lionel Pascoe (Conservative Party) has been elected as the new Cornwall councillor for the Gwinear-Gwithian and St Erth electoral division.

At the by election, which was held on 6 December, Anthony Pascoe received 332 votes.

Six other candidates stood for election:

Yvonne Lesley Bates (Liberal Democrats) 121

Derek John Elliott (Independent) 24

Sheila Furneaux (Independent) 167

John Ellery Gillingham (Mebyon Kernow) 58

Malcolm Hurst (The Labour Party Candidate) 76

Michael John Roberts (Independent) 163

The turnout was 25.6%
