Devon and Cornwall Police Area
1. I, Kevin Lavery being the Police Authority Returning Officer for the Devon and CornwallPolice Authority give notice that an election is to be held for a Police and Crime
Commissioner.
2. Nomination papers can be obtained from The Elections Office, Cornwall Council, Luxstowe
House, Liskeard PL14 3DZ (01579 341234) during the time for delivery of the papers.
3. Nomination papers must be delivered to me at: Room 33, Cornwall Council Offices,
Luxstowe House, Liskeard PL14 3DZ from 10am on 9 October 2012. Delivery of the
nomination papers can then be made from 10am to 4pm on any working day but no later
than 12 noon on 19 October 2012.
4. The deposit for each candidate (£5,000) can be paid by cash or bankers draft (banks
operating in the UK only) and, with my prior permission, by credit or debit card.
5. If the election is contested the poll will be held on Thursday 15 November 2012
between 7am and 10pm.
6. Applications to be included on the register of electors to be used at this election MUST
reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the address shown below by 31 October 2012.
7. Any elector may apply for a postal or proxy vote at this election. Applications to vote by
post or by postal proxy MUST reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the address
shown below by 5pm on 31 October 2012. Applications to vote by proxy MUST reach the
Electoral Registration Officer at the address shown below by 5pm on 7 November 2012.
8. A person can apply to vote by proxy on the grounds of disability if the applicant becomes
incapacitated after 5pm on 7 November 2012. The application MUST reach the Electoral
Registration Officer at the address shown below by 5pm on 15 November 2012.
9. Applications to cancel or alter postal and proxy votes, or to change from postal to proxy
voting MUST reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the address shown below by 5pm
on 31 October 2012.
